The workflow will focus on developing implementation specifications for ATM and terminal providers, as well as designing a certification and approval framework for payment solutions.
This initiative aims to integrate the potential digital euro with existing payment systems and hardware, support offline transactions, and achieve interoperability with standards adopted by various European countries, indicating a shift in policymaking towards implementation plans.
Workflow Focused on ATM Integration and Certification Framework
One of the workflows will draft implementation specifications for ATM and terminal providers, covering communication technologies, offline capabilities, and the reuse of existing payment standards.
These two workflows will report to the RDG, which includes representatives from merchants, payment service providers (PSPs), and consumers. Selected experts will provide technical support to facilitate the development of standardized rules.
