Key Highlights
In the past two trading days, Venture Global's stock has seen a significant rise due to fundamental developments.
The energy company's shares closed up 14.54% on Wednesday, reaching $14.85 per share. This follows a more than 10% increase on the previous trading day. Year-to-date, the stock has surged approximately 90%.

The catalyst for this stock price increase was Venture Global's announcement that it has reached a Final Investment Decision (FID) for the second phase of its CP2 liquefied natural gas facility in Louisiana, marking the development of the company's third green project.
To fund the construction, Venture Global has arranged $8.6 billion in project financing. While this achievement alone is enough to impact the market, the underlying demand story is even more appealing to investors.
CEO Mike Sabel called this announcement a significant milestone. He stated, “We are very proud to announce the FID for Phase 2 of CP2, our third green project, bringing Venture Global's total capital market transactions to over $95 billion.”
Production Capacity and Contract Status
The CP2 facility is designed for a maximum capacity of 29 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year. Most of this capacity has been secured through long-term supply agreements with buyers in Europe and Asia.
Combined with existing projects, Venture Global currently has over 49 million tons of total contracted production capacity. According to Sabel, once CP2 reaches full operational status, the company is expected to become the largest LNG exporter in the United States.
This financing achievement provides the company with better visibility and resources to drive ongoing construction work.
Favorable Market Conditions Provide Support
The upward momentum of the stock is not solely attributed to company-specific announcements. The dynamics of the macro energy market have also provided significant support.
Scotiabank's upgrade of the target price for Venture Global shares has further boosted investor confidence.
The stock has strong liquidity, with an average daily trading volume of over 15 million shares, and current technical analysis indicators show a strong buy signal.
Venture Global's market capitalization is currently approximately $31.87 billion.
The company's year-to-date return of about 90% places it among the top performers in the energy sector ahead of 2026.
