MEXC's Bitcoin Reserve Coverage Surges to 267%, Accelerating Industry Transparency

MEXC's Bitcoin reserve coverage rises to 267%, with Ethereum and stablecoin reserves also fully over-collateralized, reflecting the accelerating financial transparency of crypto exchanges and rebuilding user trust in centralized platforms.

According to the latest disclosed data, cryptocurrency exchange MEXC's Bitcoin reserve coverage has increased to 267%, a significant rise from 158% last month. This change stems from an increase in the platform's Bitcoin holdings from 6,172.88 BTC in January to 12,003.98 BTC in February, reflecting a steady expansion of its asset scale. MEXC stated that this move demonstrates its high regard for the security of user funds and aligns with the industry's increasing trend toward transparency.

In terms of stablecoins, USDT reserves are approximately 1.82 billion, with a coverage ratio of 117%, and USDC reserves reached 93.5 million, with a coverage ratio of 124%. These figures indicate that MEXC has achieved full or over-collateralization exceeding 100% in its core assets, providing solid protection for user assets. It is worth noting that as several centralized exchanges have collapsed in recent years due to opaque reserves, Proof of Reserves has become a mainstream practice in the industry. An increasing number of leading platforms are beginning to regularly disclose on-chain asset data to rebuild user trust. MEXC's continued disclosure is a typical example of this trend.

In the future, continuously publishing reserve data may become a basic capability of trading platforms, rather than an optional bonus.
