MRPL's stock experienced a rise following confirmation of the tanker's movements. Rakesh Kumar Sinha, Special Secretary at India's Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, confirmed that the Aqua Titan is en route to India with crude oil. Earlier, officials had stated they were unaware of any route changes for the vessel.

The tanker, carrying Russian Urals crude oil, was initially bound for China but altered its course in Southeast Asian waters and is now heading to India. The vessel is expected to arrive at New Mangalore Port on Saturday.

Sanctioned Vessel Changes Course
The Australian government imposed sanctions on Aqua Titan and 59 other vessels in June, citing deceptive practices such as frequent flag changes and disabling tracking systems. The United Kingdom, Canada, the European Union, and Ukraine have also sanctioned the tanker.
The Aqua Titan rerouted to India after the United States permitted Russian crude oil imports for 30 days. Officials confirmed that the tanker had secured a charter contract with MRPL before changing its course. The vessel is now anticipated to arrive on March 21, marking the latest confirmed development in this transaction.
