XRP has dropped to a six-year low in trader profits, with extreme panic signals indicating a potential rebound. Historically, such extremely negative market value to realized value (MVRV) readings often cluster near major market bottoms. When short-term holders are deep in losses, selling pressure typically exhausts, leaving the market in a state where most weak investors have already exited. In past cycles, this situation often heralded a strong rebound after sentiment stabilized.

This decline follows a strong rebound for XRP at the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, during which the price reached an all-time high of $3.65. At that time, regulatory progress surrounding Ripple, rising interest from institutional investors, and speculative sentiment around ETFs drove the price upward. However, as the price trend cooled, later investors found themselves trapped at high levels, facing losses as volatility returned. Subsequently, repeated sell-offs pushed short-term holders further into losses, exacerbating market panic.

According to data from Santiment, retail sentiment has significantly worsened, with discussion trends increasingly dominated by fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) rather than firm conviction. Ironically, these often signal opportunities rather than further declines. As sentiment compresses, the MVRV ratio remains in a depressed zone, where even mild positive factors have historically been enough to trigger a rapid rebound as sidelined buyers re-enter the market.
On-chain activity from large holders has also slowed, with whale trading volume dropping by over 50%. Some interpret this as a lack of confidence, while others view it as a pause in accumulation, waiting for a clear market direction to emerge. Although low MVRV readings do not guarantee an immediate reversal, they do suggest that recent downside risks may have already been priced in by the market.
As sentiment compresses, traders remain deep in losses, and valuation signals flash extreme levels once again, XRP appears to be approaching a critical turning point.
