BlackRock has expanded its dollar-denominated institutional digital liquidity fund to Avalanche through the tokenization platform Securitize, with each fund share represented by a BUIDL token. The fund aims to maintain a stable $1.00 token price and pays out daily accumulated dividends directly to investors' wallets.
BUIDL invests its assets in cash, U.S. Treasuries, and repurchase agreements, providing institutional participants with an on-chain yield tool based on traditional financial collateral. The fund is now available on multiple blockchain networks, with Avalanche being one of them.
The arrival of BUIDL comes amid a broader wave of institutional activity on Avalanche. According to Messari's "Avalanche Q4 2025 State Report," the total locked value (TVL) of real assets on the network grew by 68.6% quarter-over-quarter and 949.3% year-over-year, reaching $1.33 billion by the end of Q4 2025. This institutional base is now further solidified by the reported growth in stablecoin supply this week.
The ranking of stablecoins and BlackRock's deepening involvement indicate that Avalanche is increasingly being viewed as a serious venue for compliant, institutional-grade digital assets, rather than just a platform driven by retail activity.
