First US Spot Polkadot ETF Launches Trading

21Shares, a US crypto asset management firm, officially launched the first exchange-traded fund (ETF) tracking the spot price of Polkadot (DOT) today. The fund, with the ticker TDOT, has commenced trading on the Nasdaq exchange. According to Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, the fund's initial fundraising reached $11 million, with an annual management fee of 0.3%. Spot crypto ETFs allow investors to indirectly participate in the price fluctuations of digital assets through traditional securities accounts, without directly holding or managing private keys.

Polkadot, a blockchain network designed to achieve multi-chain interoperability, has a current market capitalization of approximately $1.7 billion for its native token DOT. The network facilitates data and asset circulation between different blockchains through its relay chain and parachain architecture, and is regarded as a key technology for promoting the integration of decentralized ecosystems.

Previously, 21Shares has launched spot ETF products in the US market tracking major crypto assets such as Bitcoin, XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, and Sui. The launch of TDOT marks Polkadot as the latest major altcoin asset, following the aforementioned projects, that can be invested in through a US ETF structure, further enriching the channels for institutional and retail investors to participate in the crypto market. As the regulatory environment gradually clarifies, spot ETFs are becoming an important bridge connecting traditional finance and the crypto world, and Polkadot's entry is injecting new liquidity expectations into the market.
