Strike Secures New York License, Bitcoin Payrolls Officially Legalized

Strike's acquisition of New York's highest-level crypto licenses, allowing users to legally receive Bitcoin salaries, marks a significant step towards Bitcoin mainstream adoption and sets a new compliance benchmark for the industry.

Strike, the Bitcoin payment platform led by Jack Mallers, has recently obtained both a BitLicense and a money transmitter license from the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), becoming the first company to fully legally operate Bitcoin payment services in New York. This breakthrough marks the official opening of the doors of the most strictly regulated financial market in the United States to native Bitcoin services.

New York users can now directly receive Bitcoin salaries through Strike, with a maximum of $20,000 per month automatically converted to Bitcoin at zero fees. Users do not need to manually purchase or manage crypto assets, as the system completes the entire process in the background, greatly reducing the barrier to entry. All customer funds are fully reserved on a 1:1 basis and are not used for lending or leverage, ensuring asset security and are subject to ongoing audits, cybersecurity reviews, and capital adequacy regulations by the NYDFS.

As the financial center of the United States, New York's regulatory standards are considered an industry benchmark. Since the introduction of the BitLicense in 2015, the license has been known for its rigorous review process and high costs, with many crypto companies choosing to avoid the New York market or even block users from the state. Strike's acquisition of both licenses not only proves that its technology and compliance system meet the highest standards but also sets a reliable regulatory model for the entire industry. With its large population base and highly concentrated corporate headquarters resources, obtaining local compliance permits means that products have stronger commercial credibility and market penetration potential. The legalization of Bitcoin salaries is shifting from a fringe experiment to mainstream financial practice, and New York's acceptance is a key turning point in this transformation.
