Pi Network recently partnered with robotics startup OpenMind to successfully complete a proof-of-concept pilot for decentralized AI computing. The trial aimed to assess whether Pi Network's vast distributed node system could effectively undertake artificial intelligence tasks, especially computationally intensive work such as image recognition.
In the pilot, participating Pi nodes were assigned the task of processing AI-generated images. They verified their actual computing power by identifying objects in the images and returning results including bounding boxes and classification labels. Test results showed that the response time for computing tasks was approximately 1 second, with complete results returned in an average of only 4 seconds, demonstrating efficient and stable performance.
