ARK Funds Add Coinbase and Robinhood Amid Crypto Sell-Off to Capture Long-Term Value

In the context of a widespread crypto market pullback driven by geopolitical worries, ARK Invest bucked the trend on Tuesday by increasing its holdings in Coinbase and Robinhood shares, highlighting its long-term confidence in crypto ecosystem-related businesses. According to the latest disclosures, ARK funds purchased a total of 158,587 Robinhood shares, representing a $12.06 million commitment based on the March 2 closing price of $76.07.

Meanwhile, major digital assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum have also failed to shake off downward pressure, repeatedly faltering at key resistance levels as market participants largely remained on the sidelines. Even so, ARK chose to double down during the downturn, indicating that its investment thesis is rooted more in corporate fundamentals and the long-term potential of crypto infrastructure than in short-term price swings.

As of March 4, Coinbase and Robinhood ranked as the sixth and seventh largest holdings within ARKK respectively; in ARKW, Robinhood was the fifth-largest holding while Coinbase was eighth. Under ARK’s investment discipline, no single stock typically exceeds a 10% allocation within a fund, and both companies currently account for 3% to 6% in the respective ETFs, leaving ample room for further buildup. This move underscores ARK’s continued optimism for the crypto exchange space, particularly as regulatory clarity progresses and compliance-focused platforms with solid user bases stand to outperform during industry consolidation.
