Iran Escalates Attacks on US Tech Giants, Oracle Becomes First Target

Iran escalates attacks on US tech companies, with Oracle as the first target. The US military is searching for a missing pilot, while India resumes crude oil purchases from Iran.

On Saturday, Iran opened a new front in its confrontation with the United States, directly threatening American tech businesses in the region. Missile and drone attacks have been ongoing in the Middle East, with the UAE reporting the interception of dozens of incoming threats in the past 24 hours.

Although the damage has been limited, Iran continues to retaliate against attacks from the US and Israel, with its strikes no longer confined to foreign targets. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has threatened more US tech companies operating in the Middle East, including Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, and Google.

Meanwhile, the US military continues to search for a missing pilot from an F-15E fighter jet that was shot down in southwestern Iran. One crew member has been rescued, but another remains missing. Both the US and Iran have confirmed that Iran successfully shot down the two-seat fighter. In another incident, two US officials stated that a pilot of an A-10 attack aircraft ejected after being hit by Iranian fire in Kuwait.

The rescue operation has faced further troubles. Two Black Hawk helicopters involved in the search for the missing crew members were attacked by Iranian fire within Iranian territory; nevertheless, the helicopters successfully escaped Iranian airspace. Washington officials are concerned that the missing pilot may be captured and used as leverage by Iran. The downing of the F-15E is also a significant milestone in the war, marking the first successful shootdown of a US combat aircraft by the Iranian military since the conflict began.

“Remember I gave Iran ten days to reach an agreement or open the Strait of Hormuz? Time is running out — in 48 hours, all hell will break loose on them. God bless! President Trump”

Meanwhile, India’s oil ministry has stated that Indian refiners have resumed purchasing Iranian crude oil due to supply disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz caused by the Middle East conflict. India is the world’s third-largest oil importer and consumer, having not received shipments from Tehran since May 2019, when US pressure drove buyers away from Iranian crude.

With this pressure easing, the US temporarily lifted sanctions on Iranian oil and refined products last month to alleviate supply shortages. The Indian oil ministry stated on social media: “In light of the supply disruptions in the Middle East, Indian refiners have secured crude oil requirements, including from Iran, without payment obstacles.”

Additionally, India has confirmed its crude oil requirements for the coming months, adding: “India imports crude oil from over 40 countries, and companies can flexibly choose oil from different sources and regions based on commercial considerations.”
