Coinbase launches regulated crypto futures in 26 European countries, offering perpetual and fixed-term contracts, promoting the integration of digital assets and traditional finance, and creating a safe and transparent new ecosystem for investors to trade derivatives.

Globally renowned cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has officially launched regulated crypto futures products in 26 major European markets, including financial powerhouses such as Germany, France, and the Netherlands. This move marks a new phase of standardization in the European crypto derivatives market, providing investors with a safe and transparent trading channel, and filling the high-risk gap previously caused by a lack of platform regulation.

The futures products launched are divided into two categories: perpetual futures, which support a five-year term and a floating funding rate mechanism; and fixed-term futures, which are settled monthly or quarterly. This diversified design enables investors to flexibly choose according to market fluctuations and position strategies, effectively managing risk exposure.

To comply with EU financial regulatory requirements, users must complete strict identity verification and investment suitability assessments before trading. Once certified, accounts support deposits in EUR or USDC, and trading can be seamlessly accessed through web and mobile platforms, with an operational experience close to traditional financial platforms. Coinbase is building an integrated financial services ecosystem by integrating traditional financial instruments with digital assets. This layout not only consolidates its leading position in the crypto industry but also promotes the popularization of institutional-grade trading under a compliant framework. At the same time, partner Interactive Brokers simultaneously launched micro Bitcoin and Ethereum futures contracts, offering both perpetual and monthly forms, with a lower single contract threshold, further reducing the barrier for retail investors to participate in derivatives trading. Coinbase's European expansion is not only an extension of its product line but also an important milestone for the crypto market to move towards the mainstream financial system. By strengthening compliance and product diversity, it is redefining the way investors participate in digital assets.
