Israeli Foreign Minister Outlines Ceasefire Conditions; Germany and US Focus on Iranian Nuclear and Missile Threats

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar has made it clear that Israel is not seeking an unconditional ceasefire, but rather a cessation of hostilities based on specific conditions, aimed at avoiding an endless conflict. This position emphasizes that military action must be coordinated with diplomatic efforts and humanitarian considerations, rather than relying solely on force to resolve the issue. During a visit, German Foreign Affairs Minister Johann Wadephul pointed out that strategic goals cannot be achieved solely by military means, and that diplomatic avenues must play a key role. This view is highly consistent with Sa'ar's assertion that long-term security depends on simultaneously curbing Iran's nuclear program, missile capabilities, and the network of paramilitary organizations it supports.

The diplomatic moves of the United States and Germany are profoundly influencing the situation. According to media reports, Sa'ar emphasized that any ceasefire rhythm needs to be closely coordinated with Washington, indicating that Israel's decisions will be embedded in the overall strategic assessment of its allies. At the same time, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz also expressed concern about the risk of regional conflict spillover, calling for a clear diplomatic solution to be opened as soon as possible. Israel's core ceasefire conditions include: effectively limiting Iran's ability to enrich nuclear materials, weakening its long-range missile deployments, and significantly reducing the operational space of pro-Iranian militia organizations in the region.
