XRP price rises in the short term, but exchange trading frequency hits a record low, suggesting users prefer long-term holding. Meanwhile, the Ripple payment network continues to expand, RLUSD market cap exceeds one billion, and compliance layout accelerates.
Despite a recent minor rebound in Bitcoin and major altcoins amid easing tensions in Iran, XRP also saw a 4% increase on Tuesday, but its market activity reveals a divergent trend. Data shows that XRP deposits and withdrawals on major exchanges have fallen to historic lows, reflecting a significant decrease in user willingness to engage in exchange activities.
This change is based on the "Multi-Exchange Daily Net Deposit/Withdrawal Transactions" indicator, which tracks the frequency of XRP trading activity across 15 major cryptocurrency exchanges, rather than the total amount of funds. In other words, it measures how many users are actively depositing or withdrawing, rather than simply reflecting transaction size.
Typically, an increase in this indicator means more users are transferring XRP to exchanges, potentially signaling impending selling pressure; while a decrease indicates that users are more inclined to transfer tokens to personal wallets, often seen as a signal of long-term holding or accumulation. Historical data shows that when the XRP price approached $3 in January 2025, there was a concentrated wave of deposits, followed by large-scale withdrawals in May and June, after which the market entered a consolidation phase.
At the same time, Ripple's payment ecosystem is steadily expanding. Its system now has access to 51 real-time payment channels, and its stablecoin RLUSD has exceeded $1 billion in market capitalization in less than a year since its launch. The platform supports seamless integration of fiat currencies and stablecoins and has obtained compliance licenses in more than 75 jurisdictions worldwide, demonstrating its continued deepening of institutional-grade payment capabilities.
