Amazon Wins First Round in AI Shopping Agent Battle, Challenging Platform Sovereignty

The legal dispute between Amazon and Perplexity marks a turning point in the application of artificial intelligence in e-commerce. Recently, a U.S. federal court granted Amazon's request for a temporary injunction, preventing Perplexity's AI shopping agent, Comet, from accessing its platform. With AWS and OpenAI announcing a $38 billion strategic partnership in November 2025, planning to deploy large-scale AI computing power by the end of 2026, the role of AI agents in consumer decision-making will become increasingly critical.
