Ripple Eyes Australian Payment Firm to Expand Asia-Pacific Network

Ripple plans to acquire an Australian licensed payment company to obtain a financial services license, promote the expansion of its Asia-Pacific cross-border payment network, enhance compliance capabilities and transaction efficiency, and expand RLUSD and AEDZ stablecoin ecosystem cooperation.

Ripple is advancing a key strategic initiative with plans to acquire BC Payments Australia Pty Ltd, a licensed Australian payment company, to obtain an Australian Financial Services License (AFSL). This move aims to build a compliant and efficient cross-border payment platform, further solidifying its market position in the Asia-Pacific region. The transaction is currently in its final stages.

Upon obtaining the license, Ripple will be able to provide regulated payment services to banks, fintech companies, and corporate clients, covering the entire process from customer account opening and compliance review to fund transfer and foreign exchange. The platform will integrate traditional banking systems with digital asset networks to achieve end-to-end closed-loop processing of funds, significantly improving transaction efficiency and transparency.

Through this architecture, corporate users only need to connect to a single system to complete international remittances without relying on multiple intermediaries or complex blockchain tools, thereby reducing operating costs and risks. At the same time, Ripple will directly connect with local payment partners, shortening settlement cycles and enhancing fund tracking capabilities.

According to company disclosures, payment transaction volume in the Asia-Pacific region is expected to nearly double by 2025, reflecting strong demand from financial institutions for fast and low-cost cross-border payment solutions. To date, Ripple has accumulated more than 75 regulatory licenses worldwide, making it one of the most compliant companies in the digital asset financial services sector.

In addition, Ripple is promoting the regional expansion of its stablecoin ecosystem. Its RLUSD stablecoin has completed integration with AEDZ, a compliant stablecoin pegged to the UAE Dirham. This collaboration aims to build blockchain-based financial infrastructure to support asset tokenization and liquidity management, further stimulating financial service innovation in the Asia-Pacific digital asset market.
