Ontology Unveils 2026 Roadmap: Building User-Centric Data Sovereignty and Humanistic AI Ecosystem

In March 2026, Ontology officially announced its annual development roadmap, focusing on building a user-centric data sovereignty system and a trustworthy artificial intelligence infrastructure. By integrating its core technologies, Ontology will upgrade ONTO Wallet into a unified digital identity and data management hub, integrating ONT ID identity authentication, Orange Protocol reputation system, and Ontello privacy protection module to achieve one-stop management of identity, reputation, and data permissions.

This upgrade marks ONTO Wallet's transformation from a traditional crypto wallet to a data value engine. Users can independently authorize the use of their personal verification data, participate in the data economy, and receive corresponding rewards, truly realizing the unity of data ownership and revenue rights. At the technical level, Ontology continues to strengthen its Decentralized Identifier (DID) and Verifiable Credential (VC) system, ensuring synchronization with the latest W3C standards, and providing secure and compliant identity support for Real World Assets (RWA) and other scenarios.

As a key node in the integration of blockchain and AI, Ontology is building high-quality training sets based on user-authorized data, providing traceable and verifiable human behavior data for AI models, and promoting the development of ethical AI. ONT and ONG tokens will also add micro-payment functions to incentivize the service calls of decentralized AI agents. On the underlying network, Ontology continues to optimize its EVM-compatible chain by introducing selected Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) to improve performance and lower the barrier to entry for node operation, promoting the diversification and resilience of the validator network. At the same time, the platform plans to launch a gamified incentive mechanism to increase community participation.
