Crypto ETF Inflows Surge as Bitcoin Dominates Institutional Interest

Crypto ETF inflows surged 149% in the past two days, with Bitcoin becoming the core of institutional allocation. Holdings increased by over 1,000 BTC in a single day, with giants like BlackRock and Fidelity continuing to increase their positions, highlighting Bitcoin's dominance in compliant investment.

Crypto ETFs have seen a significant surge in inflows over the past two days, jumping from $97 million to $242 million, an increase of 149%. Bitcoin has been the primary beneficiary, with related ETF holdings increasing from 2,530 BTC (valued at approximately $167 million) on March 10th to 3,610 BTC (valued at approximately $247 million) the following day. This single-day increase nearly equals the total new Bitcoin mined in eight days. Major asset managers like BlackRock and Fidelity have played a key role in these inflows, reflecting their continued recognition of Bitcoin as a compliant and robust core asset allocation.

Ethereum, on the other hand, has experienced more volatility. On March 10th, its ETF saw a net outflow of 26,498 ETH (approximately $51.3 million), but rebounded the next day with an inflow of 6,325 ETH (approximately $12.6 million). This indicates that institutional investors are making short-term position adjustments and strategy rebalancing. Although Ethereum's weighting in institutional ETF portfolios is still far lower than Bitcoin's, its position as the cornerstone of smart contracts and the decentralized finance ecosystem makes it irreplaceable in diversified digital asset allocations.

In contrast, most altcoins have received little institutional attention in this ETF fund flow. Market data shows that institutions prefer to focus on mainstream assets with high liquidity and large market capitalization, excluding other tokens from mainstream ETF allocations. Overall, the recent movements in crypto ETFs highlight that institutional investors are gradually dominating market trends. Their strategies are becoming more conservative, prioritizing market-validated, top-tier crypto assets with clear regulatory frameworks, further solidifying Bitcoin's leading position.
