Some Lamborghini-authorized dealers have begun accepting cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum for car purchases, but this move is not a brand-wide policy—it is decided by each dealer independently. In the US, dealers mainly route crypto payments through BitPay, while French showrooms commonly use the Lyzi platform. Both services implement instant conversion, turning customer payments into fiat (USD or EUR) in real time, shielding dealerships from price volatility while keeping financial settlements standardized.

The trend is driven by high-net-worth clients holding significant digital assets. Many buyers want to spend their Bitcoin or Ethereum directly on a car, a demand that traditional finance struggles to fulfill. By leveraging specialist payment gateways, dealers avoid the high volatility of crypto, reducing the complexity of asset custody, reconciliation, and treasury management. As early as 2013, a Lamborghini dealership in Newport Beach, California, completed a Bitcoin car purchase through BitPay using a process very similar to today’s, underscoring the longevity and maturity of this model.

In France, Lyzi supports over 80 crypto assets, and its Tezos-based payment flow is completed via QR code or a dedicated app, offering ease of use and a customer experience close to card payments. Lyzi CEO Damien Patoureaux says the goal is to make crypto payments feel as seamless as swiping a card.
In the US, Ethereum (ETH) has joined Bitcoin as a mainstream supported crypto, with BitPay facilitating instant USD settlements. Dealer notices indicate that the acceptance of Bitcoin and Ethereum varies by showroom, depending on each local franchise owner’s system configuration and technical integration.
Overall, Lamborghini’s corporate policy does not mandate crypto payments, yet its dealer network is quietly adapting to the demands of the digital asset era. Third-party providers manage the entire payment flow, delivering a secure ‘customers pay in crypto, dealers receive fiat’ loop. This decentralized yet risk-controlled approach is emerging as a flagship example of digital transformation in the luxury car retail sector.
