Shiba Inu's Layer-2 network, Shibarium, is gradually recovering, with ongoing technical updates. Recent data indicates that the blockchain explorer is still indexing a significant number of network blocks, explaining temporary inconsistencies in the display of some transactions and assets. Meanwhile, the Shiba Inu community is closely monitoring the latest progress in infrastructure improvements.
Shibariumscan Indexing Explains Data Discrepancies
Because indexing is not yet complete, the numbers related to total blocks, transactions, and wallet addresses are lower than expected. Explorers rely on the indexing process to organize and present blockchain data. Until indexing is complete, the Shibarium Explorer cannot display full network activity.
The community organization Shibizens had previously addressed user concerns about missing tokens and NFTs. In early March, some users reported that certain assets were not displaying correctly, mentioning missing tokens on Shibariumscan and missing NFTs in the wallet's NFT tab.
Shibizens explained that indexing delays were likely the cause of this issue, mentioning temporary bridge updates that occurred during the same period. They emphasized that the issue does not indicate any loss of assets on the Shibarium blockchain.
As less than half of Shibarium blocks have been indexed, asset visibility issues may temporarily persist. The explorer will continue processing blockchain data to restore full network transparency.
Infrastructure Upgrades and RPC Changes Underway
Reports in February indicated that Shibarium had migrated to a new server environment, designed to enhance performance and improve system reliability.
Shortly thereafter, Shibizens released RPC update notes after receiving user inquiries. The organization confirmed that the previous RPC endpoints had been deactivated. These endpoints previously connected wallets and decentralized applications to the network.
Developers introduced a new RPC system to replace the old infrastructure. This change is intended to improve the stability of applications running on the Shibarium network.
Lucie wrote that the SHIB ecosystem has experienced market pressures, negative news, and recurring claims of decline. However, the team is still gradually rebuilding the network. She also noted that exchange supply continues to decrease, while whale activity is increasing.
Additionally, the Shiba Inu ecosystem launched SOU in February, meaning "Shib Owns You," operating in the form of on-chain NFTs. Developers designed the token to support affected Shibarium users through payments, donations, and occasional rewards.
As indexing progresses and Shibariumscan maintenance continues, the Shiba Inu community now awaits further updates. Developers also plan to implement privacy upgrades to the Shibarium blockchain later this year.
