In a media interview today (April 22), Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei pointed out that Iran has not yet decided whether to participate in a new round of negotiations with the United States. Baghaei emphasized that Iran approached the first round of talks with the US with goodwill and seriousness, but the US side has shown indifference, a lack of sincerity, and an inconsistent stance. He further stated that if attending negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan, aligns with national interests, Iran will participate, but no specific decision has been made at this time. Additionally, Baghaei noted that the US blockade of Iranian ports is viewed as an act of aggression, and its shooting at and seizure of Iranian merchant vessels is not the behavior expected from a country genuinely committed to a serious diplomatic process.
