Mastercard has officially become a charter member of the Blockchain Security Standards Council (BSSC) and will collaborate with several organizations, including Coinbase, Fireblocks, Anchorage Digital, and BitGo, to develop a security framework for blockchain networks and tokenized assets. Mastercard will also participate in working groups related to security and privacy guidelines, with Claire Le Gal, head of its security solutions division, representing the company on the BSSC board. The BSSC noted that Mastercard's extensive experience in the payments sector will contribute to enhancing blockchain security regulations.
